The East: Its History, Art, and Practices
Take a journey to the Far East and explore its history, literature, customs, and art. Dive in and explore the dynasties of China and the kingdoms of Korea.. Students will learn about Chinese calligraphy and have the opportunity to write the basic strokes, transcribe famous works, and even write poems! Through nature walks, close observation, and imagination, students will learn to write their own Haikus and create Mandalas.

Theatre/Improv
Bring your imagination as we explore the ins and outs of writing and performing short plays, sketches, scenes, and short films. Using techniques, such as improvisation, we’ll learn about story arc, character development, and genre (i.e. parody, suspense, comedy, etc.). Fun right brain activities and games will challenge and excite! Improvisation, a freeing art form, is popular among children of all ages and incredibly beneficial in developing teamwork, confidence, and intuitive creativity. Using elements of improvisation and story development, we’ll move into creating our own theatre performance, and showcase our young actors' talents and growing skills with a final performance for friends and family!

Mindfulness & Nature: The Four Foundations
Cultivate confidence, peace of mind, and creativity through engagement with body, speech, and mind. This academic and practice-oriented course will explore the foundations of meditation. Students will learn about the origination of mindfulness, what it means to be “mindful”, its benefits, and how to practice mindfulness with body, speech and mind.

Creative Writing: Tap in to your Creative Genius
Words on the tip of your tongue? Knowing what you want to say, but not being able to get it onto paper? This class is for you! Students will learn how to harness their inner creative genius and let the words flow. Utilizing fun strategies and engaging exercises, students will learn the basics of poetry, short story, playwriting, and writing in genres. Students will be introduced to self-publishing opportunities and submissions. Be inspired and let's write together!

Design Challenge: Think Globally, Act Locally
This unique enrichment opportunity will encourage students to investigate present-day and real-world challenges faced in our community. Taking a STEM approach, students will design their own inquiry and project based learning opportunity, which will utilize applicable 21st century skill building, including problem solving, creative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork. Together, we’ll improve our community one challenge at a time!
